While some people are off on vacation at the moment there are many who are behind the scenes planning for great events in the autumn.
If you are based in the west of Ireland, or if you want an excuse to spend a great weekend in Galway, make sure that you put the 22 September 2007 in your calendar as that is the date of BarCamp Galway.
BarCamps are technology-focused gatherings of passionate folks who want to share, interact and spread their passion for technology. They are also free to attend.
Just like PodCamp Ireland, it’s a non-conference which means that it’s about sharing knowledge and learning from others and there is a policy of encouraging active participation in all discussions.
I attended and spoke at BarCamp Dublin earlier this year, and I can assure you that even if you are not a techical boff you will be made to feel very welcome - I met lots of great people, and by the looks of the people registering for BarCamp Galway there will be a great turn out.
Unfortunately I won’t be there as I am organising an event in Dublin for the Independent Consultants and Advisors Group of the Institute of Management Consultants in Ireland about developing compelling business proposals - more of that in the next week or so.
Yes I know that it’s only a week before PodCamp Ireland, but remember the content will be different and complementary with BarCamp Galway focusing more on technology and PodCamp Ireland being about social media.
Two great events in two great Irish cities - we have alot to look forward to in September!
