If you are wondering how to get started podcasting, you might want to check out this weeks “Podcast Sisters” podcast.
This is a very basic introduction and we cover:
- what inspired us to start our first podcast
- our 3 very different methods of podcast production
- what you need to think about ahead of recording the first podcast show
- the 3 steps to publishing your podcast
- how to overcome the nerves of speaking into the microphone for the first time.
We have a number of forthcoming “Podcast Sisters” episodes planned to teach you about some of the technical considerations, how to generate profit from your podcast and how to reach more listeners.
I started podcasting back in 2005 as did Heather and Anna started podcasting in 2006. Some might even call us podcast experts as we also teach and speak on the subject of podcasting.
From those first shows that I hosted I now have 4 different podcasts that I host, seriving different communities.
So why do I continue to podcast rather than podfading (where a podcaster stops podcasting).
Well my first reason which I mention in this weeks “Podcast Sisters” podcast is that we can podcast at the speed of sound.
I personally don’t know of a faster way to be able to share my expertise and insights other than by speaking – no matter how efficient we are at typing, I suspect few of us can type as fast as we speak.
Yes we should accompany our business or corporate podcast with writing a blog for many reasons including:
- providing a summary (often called show notes) of what our podcast listener can look forward to hearing in that podcast episode
- including key words (the words we want to be found in in the search engines) as the search engine robots can not yet check audio content for key words.
But if you are looking to express your expertise in a distinctive way that is fast, easy, inexpensive and really brings your personal brand to life, I highly recommend podcasting.
