At last marketeers in Ireland are starting to pay attention to social media tools thanks to the hard work of the Irish Internet Association who are running a series of workshops about social media.

We are still at the stage of early adopters in relation to business blogging and corporate podcasting in Ireland, but it was great to see around 100 business people at the workshop this week, hosted by the Irish Internet Association and the Marketing Institute Ireland.

The discussion at the workshop was mainly about how to use business blogs and corporate podcasts as tools to engage consumers and build your brand using social media. None of the presenters were creating direct revenue streams from their podcasts or blogs.

So how can you create new streams of income and profit from your corporate podcasts and business blogs?

Yesterday I came across a new website which is possibly the most exciting website for passive revenue generation that I have seen all year. It offers you the potential to sell your digital programmes – from podcasts to CD’s, from video’s to e-books – even if you don’t have a website.

Established by internet marketing expert, Brad Fallon, FreeIQ is a really simple site to navigate.

You can create your own Free IQ author page with your photograph and bio.

There is even a subscription box on that page where visitors can subscribe to your newsletter using the FreeIQ mailing list system or if you have your own shopping cart you can integrate that.
