My new Business is a new local online meeting point for the local residents of Castle knock. The Castleknock Print Blog acts as a local forum, and a discussion board for citizens to discuss local, relevant issues, contribute blog content, submit their own multimedia, rate other user content. Other registered members can vote on the best blog content and give feedback on their own content in the process. The forum allows locals to find one another on Google maps and connect online through the forum.

The best content is selected by the overall content moderator and editor who publishes a weekly newsletter which is distributed around the local area for free. A daily e zine for updated news, social media and blogging tips, advice and other issues is sent to registered members in box.

Attending this workshop will help me develop my start up experience in key areas such as how to expand my limited use of twitter for my business, how to use online video to add as a feature to my blogging news content, and develop the art of blogging to attract an online loyal daily viewership.

I run a training and coaching business – BrightSkills Development & Coaching – and am at the beginning of a business development plan. We’ve just launched the new BrightSkills website which incorporates the ability to blog (I have dabbled but am unsure whether I’m doing the right thing or not!) and I am using LinkedIn and Twitter.

    I really understand that a collaborative online networking and marketing campaign is essential for the success of my business and feel that this workshop can help me in the following ways;
    - helping me develop a combined plan for LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Blogging (at the moment I feel like I’m doing everything but don’t know how to connect them)
    - help me to get the right stuff up on my Blogs, generate interest and comments (this is so tough?!). A goal for me with blogging is to drive traffic to my site too – writing good blogs will help me with this
    - I feel the workshop will help me to understand better how onine marketing & networking supports my brand – how do I create a brand online?????
    - Lastly – how do I create real and meaningful relationships through LinkedIn and Twitter

As a startup I’m very conscious of spend so winning the scholarship would be an amazing boost for my business. I would commit 100% to the attendance!

    Thanks for the opportunity!

    Eve

My business Paper Cocktail was launched in January 2009. We are a wedding stationery company based in Arklow, Co. Wicklow. We wanted to bring something new to the Irish wedding stationery marketplace, and invested significantly in sourcing and designing a of stationery that incorporates beautiful handmade papers with a contemporary design philosophy.

Launching a business, and moreover developing a successful future for our brand, in this competitive marketplace, means incorporating all viable means of promotion within our overall marketing mix. I believe strongly that the development of a cohesive, well developed web marketing strategy will contribute significantly to the success of Paper Cocktail. In this regard, I have spent as much time as possible learning about marketing on the internet and have explored the topics of blogging, keyword research, social media, social networks etc.

I believe that attending this seminar, will provide the following benefits:

    - Help me to define and implement an internet marketing strategy for my business.
    - Provide a more developed understanding of the use of web based media for business.
    - Enable the development of successful online business relationships through Twitter and LinkedIn and to further apply the fundamentals learned at the workshop, in respect of the above, to other appropriate networks and forums.
    - Dig up the deep rooted camera shyness, that has prevented me thus far from exploring all subjects related to online video, in the best interests of business!
    - Ensure that the web presence that I create for my business, is appropriate, targeted and effective.
    - Provide knowledge that will fill in the (potentially large) gaps in my knowledge base of this subject matter giving me the tools and indeed the confidence to create a web presence that will give Paper Cocktail wings.

Thank you for offering this opportunity to new businesses.

    Mary
