Research – Google Alerts
One of the most amazing and free tools available to research your market is Google alerts - from the company Google. Review the alerts that come through, follow those that look relevant and you will find amazing opportunities.
Some examples for me include being able to see when competitors are in the news, finding new strategic alliances and clients.
Here are four examples of what you can use Google alerts for:
- check your own media presence – enter your name as an alert and see when you are referred to in the news and press releases on line
- enter your clients name or company name or clients you would like to work with and see what’s being reported about them
- set your competition up as a key word to research – you’ll be able to quickly assess how prolific they are in building their brand and assess where you could take action to move you a tep ahead of them – their actions of lack of them is a source of competitive advantange
- research your target market and niche or perhaps a makrket you would like to move in to – this will give you great information about what is keeping them awake at night and changes in their industry.
Please be aware – there is a web site called Google Alert – this is not the service I am referring to and is a paid service not related to Google.
Research – Good Key Words
